By Flight: Lataguri does not have its own airport. It relies on Bagdogra Airport which is located 65 km driving distance away. Once you land at Bagdogra Airport, you will find many cars to be rented outside.
By Train: Lataguri relies on New Jalpaiguri Junction for its railway connectivity. Being nicely connected with other major railway stations, you can book a train ride to NJP quite comfortably. From NJP, a rented car will help you get to the forest within 2 hours.
By Road: Both Private and public vehicles are available to reach the forest as it is well connected with all the nearby cities. You can reach the forest from the destinations like Siliguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Chalsa as well as Kolkata.
The best time to visit the Lataguri forest is during the months of December to February. Winter will be dominating the region and the weather will be truly amiable with less humidity. Keep in mind that during the monsoon season from 15th June to 15th September, the forest of Dooars will remain closed. Hence, visiting Lataguri during this time is not fully recommended. In short, Lataguri can be visited throughout the year but it's best to avoid it during monsoon season since the forest area is closed during that time.
