Located 56km from Jalpaiguri at an altitude of 218mt is a cantonment town, Binnaguri at the Jalpaiguri District in West Bengal. Binnaguri lies close to the Bhutan and Nepal border, the Bhutanese town of Samchi is just at a distance of 10km from Binnaguri. Historically Samchi is one of the 18 gates of Bhutan through which the Bhutanese used to travel to India's plain. Although most of the production the tea garden has decline in the recent years but the alluring charm of the tea garden has remain intact despite the low productivity. Apart from the tea garden the major attraction nearby Binnaguri is Jaldapara National Park home of the Asiatic one-horned Rhino which is 30km from Binnaguri. It is a national park which lies on the foothills of Himalayas along the bank of river Torsa. The Bhutanese town Samchi is also close by 10km in North from Binnaguri and the monastery of Samchi is worth the visit. Binnaguri is well connected to places like Birpara, Dhupguri. And there is a railway route in Binnaguri making it easier to travel in and around Binnaguri.
